HERITAGE GRAIN, in Montana
Our Heritage
Grain That Predates Your Great-Great-Grandmother
Not everything old is worth saving. But some things are.
Our Rouge de Bordeaux is a heritage wheat variety that traces back to 1800s France — grown through generations before industrial agriculture swept it nearly into extinction, it’s been brought to American soil. We grow it here, on Montana ground, the old way: no shortcuts, no compromise.
When you open a bag of our All Purpose Sifted Flour, you're holding something that has survived more than 200 years. That means something to us. We think it'll mean something to you too.
Milled With Intention
We stone-grind and sift our flour in small batches, preserving the character and nutrition that mass-produced flour strips away. No additives. The result is a flour with depth — a slightly nutty, complex flavor that bakes beautifully. It’s different than anything you'll find on a grocery shelf.
This is handmade food from our small farm.

From the 1889 Cabin to Your Kitchen
Some of our recipes haven't changed in over a century — because they didn't need to. Our 1889 Tallow Pain Salve is made the same way it was made in history, with the same respect for what works. Pain relief from the land.
That's the homesteader way: use what the land gives you, waste nothing, and make it well.
